While these solutions each bring their own strengths and unique use cases, they also come with limitations. Most notably, neither you nor we have any control over the data privacy and architecture of these networks. Recognizing the importance of data privacy and the need for a more streamlined approach, we embarked on a journey to create something truly exceptional. Our vision was clear: to build a network that not only matches but surpasses the security and speed of existing solutions, while placing an absolute emphasis on your privacy. We wanted to ensure that your data is handled with the utmost care and integrity, free from external influences and vulnerabilities.
This new network is a testament to our dedication to providing you with the best possible experience. Review development of DEV NET
For over 12 months now, we have been meticulously planning, testing, and developing behind the scenes. This project is not just about creating another web application with a familiar architecture. Instead, we are pioneering new methods for securing, storing, and transferring data. This research-driven approach makes our project unique and adds an element of unpredictability to what comes next.
Throughout our journey over the past months, we have discarded numerous ideas and architectural designs in favor of even better solutions for implementing individual mechanisms. Our developers have been working tirelessly on new features and improvements, driven by a passion for innovation.
In November 2024, we deployed our first master node (discover details about the network components on docs.wesendit.io), followed by a dozen storage nodes for our development network. This milestone was accompanied by rigorous security audits, performance tests, and extensive measurements to ensure everything functions flawlessly. Our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement is unwavering, and we are excited about the future of this groundbreaking project.
Upcoming
After successfully developing our nodes in the lab, we proudly launched our dev network last year. Unlike developing in a lab environment, the dev network (development network) is set up on real servers on different locations. In this way, we’re able to deploy and test architecture, features and troubleshoot in a real-life scenario. Now, we are in the final thrilling stage of Go-Live preparation. Mark your calendars for April 2, 2025, when node installation will be publicly available!
Initially, we will route all platform traffic from transfers through our node network. This will be done gradually to ensure the network can handle the capacity. As more capacity becomes available, more traffic will be routed to the network.
Simultaneously, we are working on a groundbreaking way for you to manage files and locations all in one place: on wesendit.com. This exciting new feature will revolutionize how storage locations and requirements are handled. Once this feature is released on wesendit.com, the node network will be available on the platform for all plans.
Rollout
We are set to launch our network in Europe and will gradually expand to other regions. During the first couple of months, we will route our public transfer data through the node network. By Q2, we will seamlessly integrate the node network into our main platform as a storage location.
Starting with Europe:
The primary reason for the rollout in Europe are key figures like bandwidth and response times. While bandwidth and responsiveness are optimal near the master node, storage nodes located far from the system may experience reduced performance. Our goal is to continuously improve and adapt our network to minimize these effects and ensure a seamless experience for all users, no matter where they are. With a gradual rollout of additional master nodes, we’ll expand the global availability.
Backed up with our partner Huawei Cloud, we’re ready for a global availability.

With all our groundbreaking discoveries, we have completely redefined the specifications of our storage nodes! Initially, we announced that storage nodes would be available only on certain devices and operating system architectures. But now, we are thrilled to share that our storage node can be installed on any device, virtual machine, or even storage systems with Docker capabilities. Yes, you heard that right—any device! All you need is Docker and two simple lines of code to contribute your storage to our network. We’ve made the installation process incredibly straightforward and user-friendly, just like our main platform. Simplicity is our mantra. While other projects might have you spending countless hours wrestling with command line interfaces, with our system, you can run and onboard a node in just two minutes. From Docker to the connected network—how amazing is that?
Beyond our incredibly easy setup, we’ve pioneered groundbreaking methods to further secure our network. By leveraging the highest standards of encryption, secure connections, we are in research of a tamper protection integration through blockchain interactions (unlike other projects that lack blockchain interaction in their storage mechanisms). With this, we ensure that every single fragment of your files is protected at all times and in every location. Stay tuned, we keep you posted.

We are actively pushing the boundaries of what’s possible by exploring innovative ways to bring our vision of a storage aggregator to life within the decentralized network. The network will be publicly available on April 1, 2025. Thanks to our three-layer network architecture, we are able to launch the mainnet as promised. All nodes will go through these three layers to ensure hardware functionality and optimal performance of the storage node.
