Great Data, Great Achievements: That was the first WeSendit LIVE Event

After our first WeSendit Community Live Event on November 25, 2023, we received an overwhelmingly positive response.

This shows us that the long-planned event at Chollerhalle in Zug was a resounding success! However, there’s no time to celebrate because, as you know, we are working tirelessly on launching WeSendit 3.0.

Nonetheless, today we take a moment to look back and summarize the highlights of the event for everyone who couldn’t attend in person:

The exceptional Chollerhalle in Zug, a fantastic live band, and culinary delights: The atmosphere and conditions were perfect.

CEO Jens Herbst welcomed approximately 120 guests from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Luxembourg, and Poland with an emotional opening speech. Jens shared how he got into the topics of data security, data transmission, and data storage: It was a personal, painful data loss incident that motivated him to develop a better Big Data solution. Shortly thereafter, WeSendit was born.

WeSendit 3.0: Much More than Secure Data Transmission

WeSendit 3.0 means much more than just secure data transmission from point A to B.

WeSendit opens the door to a new era of data security through decentralized data storage using Web3.

Our goal is clear: We want to make the massive benefits of decentralized networks accessible to everyone. Because everyone deserves maximum data security, privacy, and control over their data.

At this point, CTO Reto Massalongo took the stage and explained the technological advantages and innovations of WeSendit 3.0. He emphasized one key feature: the freedom to choose the storage location. Whether Web2 or Web3, WeSendit users will have the ability to decide where their data is stored, even down to the region or country.

Entering the World of Web3: WeSendit Collaborates with Global Players

Managing data through decentralized networks is still in its infancy. To achieve our ambitious goals, strong partners are essential. WeSendit has been working closely with Web3 experts from STORJ and UNIGRID for months.

Our developers are in constant communication, driving the Big Data revolution together. Recently, a global giant, HUAWEI, joined us, opening up entirely new possibilities for WeSendit.

The collaboration with HUAWEI includes various projects:

• Ku Gallery: WeSendit will offer licenses to HUAWEI’s customers
• Web3 Node: WeSendit and HUAWEI will integrate a Web3 Node into the HUAWEI Cloud environment
• Examination of placement on the HUAWEI Marketplace
• Joint evaluation of software development requirements
• Business development: Collaborative PR, marketing actions, and strategic initiatives

In parallel with building the Web3 world, WeSendit is also optimizing its existing Web2 infrastructure. WeSendit has partnered with AWS, leveraging its 550+ data centers worldwide.

Significant Progress: WeSendit is a Team Effort

CEO Jens Herbst and CTO Reto Massalongo took a moment to express their gratitude to the developers at Andersen Lab and their in-house team for their fantastic dedication. Reto and Jens praised the teams, who invested over 12,000 development hours with nearly 50 developers, implementing over 700 screen designs in various resolutions and formats.

Outlook: The Roadmap for 2024

CTO Reto emphasized, “An application is never finished.”

WeSendit is already working on additional features and improvements:

• WeSendit Desktop Client
• File management
• Paid downloads
• WeSendit Widget as a transfer interface
• Further Web3 storage partnerships
• Establishing a WeSendit Node network
• Ability to exchange WSI tokens directly within the app
